Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.
Thou hast a mighty arm, strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand declares that God possesses mighty power. That power is His mighty creative power and loving sovereignty that brings fullness of blessing to created beings. The rule it upholds rests on righteousness and judgment, is marked by mercy and truth, and gives His people joy, light, strength, protection, and exaltation. In history this power delivered Israel and worked mightily in the wilderness.
This same power establishes and strengthens David's kingly line. The promises surrounding the verse look forward to their complete fulfillment in Christ. This power is the help and strength on which God's people can rely. This strength assures believers that God can do far more than they ask or think, giving them reason to trust Him calmly. God's people must hold fast to His mighty power rather than give it up, and through Him gain victory over every wrong, sink solemnly into God, and prepare by setting their house in order.
