Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
God made a covenant with David to establish his seed forever and to build up his throne to all generations. By that covenant He establishes David's descendants forever and upholds his throne through every generation. The covenant was made to deliver the beings He created, and it concerns both heaven and earth. Its promise looks forward to the eternal ages and finds its complete fulfillment in Christ, whose kingdom has no end.
