O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?
No other lord compares to the Lord God of hosts in strength, and faithfulness is round about Him, presenting Him as incomparable and supremely powerful and faithful. He governs the world as omnipotent. His unmatched power carries out whatever His wisdom desires and His love inspires. In the promises to David, His strength, faithfulness, and mercy establish and sustain the promised king and his enduring covenant, and these promises reach their complete fulfillment in Christ.
Though supreme in majesty, He reigns in love for the most helpless and suffering among His children. He shows evidences of His power so that truth will triumph, every error in doctrine will be uprooted, and every truth will stand immortal. His power and faithfulness are grounds for trusting Him in weakness, for He has kept His people and can give strength again, as shown by His past deliverance of Israel.
Therefore those in trial can keep good courage and have faith in Him. They can commit the keeping of the soul to Him as a faithful Creator. They can know His angels are round about them.
