Psalms 90:8

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

God has set human iniquities before Himself and placed secret sins in the light of His countenance. That light exposes what is hidden, so that concealed wrongdoing stands open in His presence. Even the inward thoughts are fully seen there.

People often do not perceive sin to be as grievous as it appears in His sight. When His Spirit clears the mind and renders the heart and conscience sensitive, sin is beheld as exceedingly sinful. It then produces shame, confession, and repentance. Those who trust His promise are forgiven, and their sins are removed from before Him.

In His purity He judges the inner life, and lustful looking is condemned as secret adultery of the heart.
