O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
God's works are exceedingly great and His thoughts are profoundly deep. Reflecting on those works, especially in creation, awakens gladness and praise and gives cause for triumph. Such contemplation leads to joyful trust in the Creator and places praise for His great works at the heart of joyful worship. The Sabbath directs the mind to nature and to the Creator, where His power and wisdom inspire this joy.
