Psalms 94:16

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

Psalm 94 belongs to a group of post-Davidic psalms associated with the Babylonian captivity. That group gives voice to the sorrow and desolation of the captives. It also expresses their longing for deliverance and their prayers for it.

The verse asks who will rise up and stand with God against evildoers and workers of iniquity. It is a call for believers to take God's side by opposing evil speaking. That opposition means refusing to join in gossip or tale-bearing.
