Ezekiel Eating the Scrollby MarkWilson

Revelation 10:9

And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

John sees the little book unsealed, and Daniel and Revelation are one, Daniel being the sealed prophecy and Revelation the opened revelation that contains the little book. Its unsealing is the message in relation to time, concerning Daniel's time prophecies and giving them their proper place in the first, second, and third angels' messages to the world. The light in the seven thunders is a delineation of events to transpire under the first and second angels' messages, heard by John but commanded not to be written because the faith of the people must be tested. In God's order the most wonderful and advanced truths of the first and second angels' messages were to be proclaimed first, and no further light was to be revealed before those messages had done their specific work.

The angel standing on sea and land proclaims with a solemn oath that time should be no longer, which is not the end of this world's history nor of probationary time but the end of prophetic time before the advent of the Lord, so there will be no other message upon definite time. Its proclamation followed the first and second angels' messages and reached its limit in 1844, with the period reaching from 1842 to 1844 and the longest reckoning reaching to the autumn of 1844. To eat the little book is to comprehend truth and gladly receive its message, and the truth in regard to the time of the advent of the Lord was a precious message to the souls who received it. Those who received that precious time message proclaimed it across the sea and land to all the world.

To eat the Word means to receive and believe the Word and let the Bible speak for itself, to apply it to the individual life and make it part of oneself, received inwardly, which requires both men and women to become thoroughly acquainted with the teachings of Scripture. Its truths are to be presented earnestly and faithfully in their order, and this eating brings about the greatest reformation ever yet seen and revives past experience under the power of the Holy Spirit. The Sabbath is part of that word to be eaten, not merely brought to the throat and resisted or argued about but accepted and obeyed.
