Ezekiel's Four Winged Living Creaturesby KalebRosendahl

Revelation 4:7

And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

The vision containing this verse was given about half a century after Jesus ascended to present His church before God and to prepare mansions for His faithful ones. The larger passage reveals God's plan for future ages and opens the glories of heaven, showing the throne of God. The verse shows heavenly worshipers gathered around God's throne in prayer and praise, with anthems of joy resounding through the heavenly courts. The giving of the vision to His aged servant shows that Jesus still loved His people. Its description stirs longing to stand with the redeemed in the presence of God. Believers on earth who assemble together as active workers in meetings for prayer and praise come near to those heavenly worshipers.
