Revelation 8:8

The second trumpet is a solemn event still in the future, yet to be sounded. Trumpet after trumpet is to be sounded in turn upon the inhabitants of the earth, followed by vial after vial poured out one after another upon them. These coming solemn events to transpire are directed in battle by the Captain of the Lord's host standing at the head of the angels of heaven.
Its sounding marks scenes of stupendous interest right upon us, close at hand. Those scenes give sure indication and evidence of the presence of Him who has directed every aggressive movement and every advance, who has accompanied the march of His cause through all the ages, and who vindicates His truth and causes it to triumph. To meet these events God's people require the power of the Holy Spirit upon them. Because the time is at hand, He supplies His faithful ones with motive and power of purpose, and with hope and courage and valor.
