The verse belongs to the prophecy concerning the Ottoman Empire. Its five months are a first period of 150 years, exactly fulfilled before Deacozes ascended the throne by permission of the Turks. That first period was followed by a second period of 391 years and fifteen days.
Together the periods ended on 11 August 1840, when Ottoman power in Constantinople was broken as Turkey, through its ambassadors, accepted the protection of the allied powers of Europe and thus placed itself under the control of Christian nations and surrendered its independence. This exact fulfillment proved the correctness of the principles of prophetic interpretation adopted by Miller and his associates. It gave a powerful impetus to the Advent movement, which rapidly expanded from 1840 to 1844.
