Romans 14:22
Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Faith is a personal possession to be held inwardly in the presence of God rather than displayed for others. True happiness belongs to the person whose conscience does not accuse him in the course he permits and approves for himself. The verse calls for active exercise of trust in God as the way for that trust to grow stronger. It also calls for living continually under the divine gaze with deeds that match and express professed belief.
