Romans 3:16

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

Human ways leave ruin and suffering behind them, and this outcome stands as part of a universal unrighteousness in which no one is righteous, no one seeks after God, and there is no fear of God before human eyes. That unrighteousness is the setting to which the verse belongs, identifying the ways of men as unrighteous and estranged from God. The same condition is further marked by lack of understanding, by becoming unprofitable, by corruption of speech, by cursing and violence, and by ignorance of the way of peace. It portrays the present condition of the world and of the church today.

This terrible condition was brought about by making void the law of God. It also came through breaking the law and through teachers leading others to break it by human tradition and deception.
