Romans 7:4
Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Through the body of Christ believers have become dead to the law and are released from its former dominion. They are married and joined in spiritual wedlock to another, even to Christ who was raised from the dead. The purpose of this new union is to bring forth fruit unto God, whereas before sin worked in people and brought forth fruit leading to death. They are delivered to serve God in newness of spirit and not in the oldness of the letter. Being united to Christ means following where He leads, trusting His word, and doing what He says.
