Romans 9:4
Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
The Israelites named are Paul's own kinsmen, his Jewish kin. To them belonged the adoption, the glory of God, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship and service of God, and the promises. This listing of their privileges stands alongside Paul's deep sorrow and longing and prayer for them to be saved, because many had not recognized Jesus of Nazareth as the promised Messiah.
