Titus 1:3

But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

In due time, at the appointed time, God manifested and revealed His word through preaching. That preaching was committed and entrusted to Paul according to the commandment of God our Saviour. Preaching is God's appointed means for making His word known. It presents no human fountain from which to draw godliness.

The word of eternal life is to be preached in its purity as contained in God's Word, so that many will be made sound in the faith, holding fast the faithful word by sound doctrine to exhort and convince the gainsayers against the many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers who bring in a spurious religion to counterwork the work God said must be done. Through that preaching God makes known the hope of eternal life promised before the world began by God who cannot lie.

The verse means salvation and calling with a holy calling come not according to works but according to God's own purpose and grace given in Christ Jesus before the world began. It means God accepts believers in the Beloved and blesses them with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. This hope must be received and acted upon and brought into every relation of life, including business matters connected with the church, by carrying burdens to the Lord who gave His life and purchased His people with His own blood rather than consulting lawyers or making finite men intercessors between the soul and God. Unbelief is therefore to be dismissed.
