Zechariah Sees the Rider Among the Myrtle Treesby emmanuel_higgins

Zechariah 1:10

And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.

The saying stands inside a symbolic vision shown to strengthen God's people when the rebuilding of Jerusalem hung in doubt. It came in days of anxiety, when the future of the city and the work entrusted to its builders seemed uncertain. The imagery of riders moving through the earth disclosed that God was not distant or idle but actively at work in human affairs. That assurance was meant to steady fearful hearts facing opposition and to remind them that their labor was watched over from above.
