Zechariah 10:4

Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.

Chapters 9 through 14, including chapter 10, were originally writings belonging to Jeremiah that were later placed among Zechariah's prophecies when manuscripts were gathered. In the setting of verses 2-4, while the gifts of the Spirit are manifested among the remnant there will be counterfeit manifestations through diviners, dreamers, and others, but God will make His people like a goodly horse in battle and will punish the false ones. The later chapters of Zechariah, including this verse, look forward to the final restoration when Christ comes. The verse belongs to a prophecy about the closing scenes of world history describing the time when God destroys the wicked and the mighty conquering Christ comes forth to finish the great controversy between sin and righteousness.

The prophecy including this verse applies to the end of Israel's captivity in spiritual Egypt, identified with the Roman Empire, with the removal of papal dominion in 1798. The same prophecy applies to the gathering of the remnant westward from captivity across the Atlantic to America. It further applies to their passage through the sea with affliction into a wilderness of preparation identified with Gilead and Lebanon.
