Zechariah 10:6

And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.

Zechariah spoke this promise in the setting of the restoration, to encourage the rebuilding of the temple and the restoration of Jerusalem. God pledges to strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph, to bring them again to place them, to have mercy on them, to treat them as though He had not cast them off, and to hear them because He is the LORD their God. The prophecy looks beyond the return from Babylon to the final restoration at Christ's coming, belonging to Zechariah's closing prophecies of final restoration. That restoration movement in Zechariah's time is a type of the last reformation.

Its fulfillment comes by a remnant leaving the Roman Empire, crossing the sea with affliction, and gathering in Gilead and Lebanon as a wilderness of preparation in America, in connection with the removal of papal dominion in 1798. Its strength, salvation, and mercy apply to the remnant who are hated, cast out, and condemned to die yet are preserved to welcome the Lord's coming with joy. The verse offers hope to God's people who truly seek Him and grasp the promises of the Spirit. The section to which it belongs also foretells judgment on those who reject Him.
