Zechariah Throws Thirty Pieces of Silver to the Potterby emmanuel_higgins

Zechariah 11:10

And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

Cutting apart the staff named Beauty is the breaking of the covenant made with all the people. The shepherd imagery belongs to a prophecy concerning God's flock and the failure of those entrusted with shepherding it. That failure was the work of the Jewish rulers, who neglected the needy and helpless rather than giving them care and comfort.
