Zechariah 14:7
But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light. But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
The promise is that at evening time there will be light, with darkness giving way to light known to the Lord rather than ordinary day or night. That evening light means God's presence brings light and peace through a difficult journey and through the night, fulfilled in peace, joy, and confidence in His presence and care. It carries the assurance of Christ's peace and rest, with protection and joy even in a dark or difficult time. When God's people meet emergencies and their faith is tested, they can depend on the Lord to bring light at the darkest moment by His presence, comfort, and saving power, trusting Him and faithfully doing what He requires. The promise is illustrated by Jacob late in life, who looking back over his troubles and over his whole life recognized God's sustaining care, that God had fed him all along and redeemed him from evil.
