Zechariah 6:11
Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest; Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
Zechariah 6:11 belongs to a series of symbolic visions given to encourage God's people amid uncertainty about rebuilding Jerusalem and the temple, assuring them of God's compassion and of His purpose to restore His people and His house. The verse records God's instruction to take silver and gold brought by the returned exiles and to make crowns from them, and to set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest. That crowning introduces the prophecy of the Branch, who will build the temple of the Lord and bear glory and rule in the combined office of king and priest. The crowns themselves were to be kept as a memorial in the temple of the Lord.
