Zephaniah 2:10

The nearness of the day of the Lord in Zephaniah 2 is joined to a call to seek meekness and righteousness. Even the meek, who are the best people on earth, are urged to seek meekness and righteousness further in preparation to meet the Lord. The judgment described will come upon the nations for their pride, because they reproached the people of the Lord of hosts and exalted themselves against them. Zephaniah 1 and 2 belong to the warning message God is giving to the world, so light rejected under that warning brings condemnation.
