Zephaniah 2:5
Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant. The word of the Lord in the verse is pronounced as woe and judgment against the dwellers of the seacoast, the Philistines who are called the Cherethites. Their territory is named as Canaan, the land of the Philistines. Against that land destruction is foretold so complete that no inhabitant will be left.
This warning stands among Zephaniah's announcements of divine judgment upon evildoers. Those warnings were literally fulfilled through the years among peoples who had enjoyed great light and opportunity to know God's ways.
