Zephaniah 3:4
Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
The prophets denounced are reckless and untrustworthy, acting with lightness and treachery rather than with fidelity to their calling. The priests denounced defile what is holy, polluting the sanctuary entrusted to them. They do violence to the divine law, breaking and perverting its requirements instead of upholding them. This combined corruption of false prophecy and priestly profanation marks the moral condition of the world in the last days.
