What we're building
Ninety years of history, made intelligent
From the 1840s to the 1930s, Seventh-day Adventists left a remarkable record of their faith, mission, and history across a vast run of periodicals.
Most of it survives only as fragile scans - hard to read, difficult to search, and near invisible to AI. Our main focus is digitizing these periodicals in full - not only the well-known names, but every article - and folding them into the knowledge base behind AdventAI, so the platform can search, study, research, and generate from this history, not merely store it.
Alongside the periodicals, we're also digitizing around 1,500 pioneer and historical works - and Ellen White's books - so one connected library can span the movement's first decades.
Progress so far
A project already well underway
We're not starting from zero. The work is live, the team is growing, and the library is steadily coming online.
Inside the work
Careful by design - a human at every step
Because of AI, digitization is faster than ever. But we hold high standards for accuracy, so a person reviews every step - annotating complex pages by hand, then carefully post-processing them.
Preservation & restoration
Restoring the images, not only the words
Engravings, portraits, and photographs were printed on aging paper - faded, stained, often barely legible. Alongside the text, we use AI to gently clean, repair, and restore them, bringing back detail that time had worn away while staying faithful to the original.
From a faded scan to a restored illustration. An engraving recovered from a worn periodical page (left), carefully restored and colorized (right) - detail by detail, true to the original.
Pioneers brought back to life
Their likenesses restored from small, faded prints buried in the periodicals - shown here beside the original page they came from.
Restored - in its final, digitized form
Restored photographs flow right back into the finished article - text and image alike, ready for AdventAI.
More than an archive
It's not just searchable.
It becomes AdventAI's mind.
Every page we digitize joins the knowledge base that powers AdventAI - faithful, sourced history feeding a whole new era of intelligence. Not a static archive you read, but a living foundation AdventAI thinks with, reasons over, and answers from.
