Dinosaurs, Fossils, and the Great Flood Explained
How did dinosaurs turn to stone instead of rotting in floodwaters?
The dinosaurs were wiped out by the flood and the process of the water and sediment fossilised them… tho didn’t the flood happen for a very long time and there for those dinosaurs bones would have water logged and rotted instead of fossilising during that time?

The rapid burial and unique conditions of the universal flood provided the perfect environment for preserving remains before they could decay, as the intense pressure and mineral-rich sediment facilitated immediate petrifaction.
Rapid Preservation and Petrifaction 🌊
It is a common misconception that fossilization is a slow process; in reality, remains must be covered quickly to prevent decomposition. The flood was not a simple rising of water but a violent upheaval where the surface of the earth was broken up and the fountains of the great deep were released Genesis 7:11. This massive displacement of earth, trees, and stones formed hills and mountains over the bodies of men and beasts, sealing them away from the oxygen and bacteria that cause rotting.
Sudden Burial: The immense power of the sinking ocean currents carried massive bodies into deep caverns and covered them with hundreds of feet of clay and sand almost instantly.
Scientific Evidence: We see proof of this suddenness in fossils like a petrified fish found with a smaller fish still in its mouth, proving they were turned to stone before they could even finish their meal.
Mineral Replacement: When wood or bone is lodged in water heavily impregnated with petrescent particles, petrifaction takes place as minerals replace the organic matter.
The Size of the Antediluvian World 🦖
The remains found in the earth today testify to a world of magnificently developed plant and animal life that was immeasurably superior to what we see now. These included large, powerful animals—such as the massive mammals and reptiles geologists call "dinosaurs" or "dragons"—which existed before the flood but do not now exist.
Giant Stature: Before the flood, men, animals, and trees were many times larger than those currently on the earth.
Biblical Record: Scripture confirms there were giants in the earth in those days Genesis 6:4.
Fossil Witnesses: Discoveries of mastodons eighty feet long and human-like bones belonging to individuals eight or nine feet tall serve as witnesses to this former greatness.
Evidence of a Universal Deluge 🏔️
The presence of fossils on every high mountain range proves that the water did not merely "soak" the earth but completely transformed its crust.
Marine Fossils on Peaks: Shells and skeletons of sea animals are found on the summits of the Andes, the Alps, and the Himalayas at elevations of over 16,000 feet.
Climatical Revolution: Tropical plant fossils, such as palms and ferns, are found buried beneath the snows of the Arctic, indicating a complete and sudden change in the world's climate during the flood.
Nature's Diary: The rocky strata of the earth act as a diary, with their horizontal layers containing fossils of extinct species that testify to the truth of the Word of God.
The Purpose of These Discoveries ✨
God designed for these remains to be preserved in the earth's crust to serve as evidence for later generations that the inhabitants of the old world perished by a flood. While some use these discoveries to claim the earth is older than the Bible teaches, the inspired record provides the only consistent explanation for how such massive creatures were buried and preserved. These things are "mutely testifying" to the fact that the world was once destroyed due to iniquity, serving as a reminder of God's power and His revealed truth.
Just as the flood took the ancient world by surprise, we are warned that the coming of the Son of man will be similar, occurring at a time when many are not looking for it Matthew 24:37-392 Peter 3:5-7. Therefore, we should look to these evidences to establish our faith in the sacred record.
