Ellen White on Health, Righteousness, and Christian Perfection
Can your daily diet actually impact your spiritual and moral powers?
What does Ellen White say about protein intake
AdventAI
A health-sustaining diet focuses on obtaining nourishment from the most natural sources provided by the earth rather than relying on the flesh of animals. The most excellent sources of strength and vitality are found in a variety of fruits, grains, and nuts.
The Ideal Sources of Nourishment
Grains and Nuts: In regions where these are abundant, they provide the necessary elements for the system without the risks associated with meat.
Unbolted Wheat: Using unbolted wheat bread is far superior to fine-flour bread because it imparts the specific nourishment required to keep the body in its best condition.
Natural Preparation: Food should be prepared in the most natural, simple, and inexpensive manner to ensure it strengthens every nerve and muscle.
The Dangers of Animal Protein
Consuming the flesh of dead animals is not the right path for those seeking physical or spiritual health. Meat-eating has a tendency to animalize the human nature, causing the lower passions to take control over the higher intellectual and moral powers. Furthermore, it is a primary cause of many severe diseases, including:
Cancers and Tumors.
Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis.
Corrupted Blood: The blood-making organs cannot convert the flesh of dead animals into high-quality, pure blood.
The Importance of Quality and Quantity
While it is essential to discard meat, butter, and grease, one must be careful not to adopt an impoverished or "poor" diet. The body requires sufficient nourishment to maintain its strength, and a diet that is too cheap or prepared without care can weaken the system. However, even with healthy food, overeating must be avoided, as any amount taken in beyond what the system can actually use will simply be left to decay and clog the machinery of the body.
A Call to Rest and Reform
True health reform is not merely about restriction but about finding a better way of living that honors the Creator. If you feel burdened by poor health habits, remember the invitation of the Lord: "Come to me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" Matthew 11:28. Choosing a simple, nutritious diet will result in a placid temper, a clear mind, and a more successful religious life.

What does Ellen White say about Christ's righteousness
AdventAI
Christ's righteousness is the perfect obedience to the law of God that is imputed to every repenting and believing soul as a free gift of grace. It is the only way for a sinner to be accepted by the Father, as it covers our defects and failure with the perfection and sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
The Meaning of Christ's Righteousness
A Free Gift: Righteousness is not earned by human works but is a gift from God that we lay hold of by faith.
Perfect Obedience: It represents Christ’s own perfect obedience to the law of Jehovah, which He performed on our behalf as our substitute and surety.
Imputed and Inwrought: While it is imputed to us for justification, it also transforms the character, bringing the peace, love, and purity of Christ into our daily lives.
The Wedding Garment: This righteousness is symbolized as a white robe or wedding garment, woven in the loom of heaven, which we must wear to be admitted into the kingdom of heaven Matthew 22:11-12.
How to Receive This Gift
To receive this righteousness, one must humble the heart, confess every known sin, and distrust self while relying wholly on the merits of a crucified and risen Saviour 1 John 1:9. Faith is the simple condition that allows a person to claim the blood of Christ in their own case, treating the sinner as though they had never sinned. We must daily crucify self and subordinate our will to the will of God, for the righteousness of God never covers a soul that chooses to remain polluted with sin. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" is the simple promise, yet we must work with Christ to maintain this connection.
The Results of Wearing the Robe
A Transformed Character: Those clothed in this apparel will find their lower nature decreasing while spiritual pride is undone and the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, and peace—are manifested.
Power for Service: When we are clothed with Christ's righteousness, we receive a strength that makes us hate sin and empowers us to work the works of God unselfishly.
Access to God: It is the only dress that gives us access to the Father and serves as our credentials for eternal life.
Reflecting Light: Those who catch the rays of the Sun of Righteousness cannot help but shine, guiding others to the Master through their words and works.
A Solemn Warning
The time of probation is our only opportunity to put on this robe, and there will be no second chance to prepare for eternity. Many who claim to be in the light are actually in darkness because they trust in their own legal religion or a "half-and-half" service. Self-righteousness is compared to "filthy rags," and those who refuse the heavenly garment will be found naked in the day of judgment Revelation 16:15. We are invited today to "buy of Me gold tried in the fire... and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed" Revelation 3:18.
The Message for This Time
The proclamation of Christ our Righteousness is the message that God has commanded His servants to give to the world to prepare the way for His second coming. It is the "marrow and fatness" of the gospel and should be the center of every discourse, for without it, our efforts are dry and spiritless. As we look to the Man of Calvary, we find that His mercy is without limit and His righteousness is our only plea. "The Lord our righteousness" is the watchword that brings peace and assurance forever.

What does Ellen White say about being perfect
AdventAI
To be perfect is to reach a state of complete conformity to the will and character of God through the indwelling of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. It involves the development of a symmetrical character that represents the divine perfection in our human sphere, just as Christ represented the Father in His sphere Matthew 5:48. 🌟
The Source and Definition of Perfection
Christ is the Only Pattern: Jesus is the only one who ever lived a perfect life of pure, spotless character on this earth. He is our perfect Pattern and Example, and we are called to copy His life in every detail.
A Gift of Grace: Perfection of character is not something we can create by our own efforts; it is a free gift offered to us by Christ, who wrought out a perfect character in His humanity.
Obedience to the Law: True perfection is defined as perfect obedience to every requirement of God's holy law, which is a transcript of His divine perfection Psalms 19:7.
Wholeness in Service: Holiness and perfection mean being whole and unreserved in our service to God, bringing every thought, word, and act into captivity to Him.
The Work of Character Building
A Lifelong Labor: The formation of a noble, perfect character is the work of a lifetime and requires diligent, persevering effort. It is a process of growing in grace day by day.
Battles with Self: Perfection is earned through hard, stern battles with self and the subduing of hereditary and cultivated tendencies toward evil.
Cooperation with God: While we must put forth our God-given powers to help ourselves, it is ultimately God who works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure Philippians 2:12-13.
Thoroughness in Duty: Every duty, even the most humble task like Christ’s work at the carpenter’s bench, should be performed with scrupulous care to help develop a perfect character.
The Necessity of Perfection for Heaven
A Requirement for Entrance: All who enter the heavenly courts must have a perfect character, for God cannot accept anything less than the purity revealed in His Son.
Probation is the Time: Our characters must be purified and refined during this present life; when Christ comes, He will not change our characters but will only give our bodies the finishing touch of immortality.
The Robe of Righteousness: We must lay aside our own "filthy rags" of self-righteousness and allow Christ to clothe us with His own robe of perfect obedience Isaiah 64:6.
Encouragement for the Struggling Soul
Ample Provision Made: Christ did not leave this world until He made it possible for every soul to have a perfect character through His merits and strength.
Divine Help is Near: When you see your own defects and feel discouraged, look up to the "mighty Helper" whose hand is stretched out to grasp yours.
Transformation is Possible: Through a daily opening of the heart to truth and the exercise of faith, the deformed soul can receive beauty, excellence, and perfection from the Redeemer.
Perfection in Our Sphere: We are not expected to be perfect in the same way God is in His infinite sphere, but we are to be as perfect in our finite human sphere as He is in His Matthew 5:48.
The Role of Physical and Mental Health
Harmonious Development: True education and perfection involve the harmonious development of the physical, mental, and moral powers.
Living by Health Laws: We cannot attain to Christian perfection while indulging gross appetites or neglecting the laws of health, as these blunt the sensibilities and becloud the mind.
A Sound Mind in a Healthy Body: We should train every organ and faculty for perfect work, for the culture of the intellect is necessary to understand and do the will of God.
