Resting in God: Stop Trying to Do His Job
Are you struggling because you're trying to do God's job for Him?
“I told God I was overwhelmed. He said, then ‘stop trying to do my Job.’” can u find an EGW quotation that conforms to this statement?

A beautiful sense of peace and rest is found when we stop trying to carry the burdens that belong only to God, as the heaviest load we can bear is the weight of unconfessed evil or the anxiety of trying to manage the future by our own human wisdom. 🕊️
Trusting God with the Burden of the Work
Release Your Self-Dependence: Many people struggle and find no rest because they trust partly to God and partly to themselves, failing to realize that victories only come when burdens are laid at the feet of Jesus. We often overtax our minds and bodies by struggling under self-imposed burdens, ignoring the Savior's gracious invitation to take His easy yoke and light burden instead.
Let Others Help: It is a mistake for those in responsible positions to try to carry every burden themselves; they should instead delegate responsibilities to younger workers, allowing them to gain experience and lift the load. God does not require one man to do all the work, and those who try to encompass the entire cause themselves will soon find their strength failing.
The Folly of "Steadying the Ark": When men begin to change divine principles or interfere with God's special supervision, they are like Uzzah, attempting to steady the ark which belongs to God alone. We are not to weary ourselves with anxiety about success, but simply go forward quietly and faithfully in the work God's providence assigns.
Faith in Divine Providence: The Lord has the destiny of nations and the concerns of His church in His own charge, and He is perfectly capable of building the house without our restless, self-sufficient interference. By renouncing all self-dependence and looking to the cross, we find that our utterly helpless condition is exactly what makes His redeeming power a necessity.
Finding Rest in Christ: If we try to meet the responsibilities of life without Jesus as a helper, the burden becomes intolerably heavy; however, we are not asked to bear it alone, for He carries us on His heart. When we feel our burden’s weight is heavier than we can bear, we have the precious privilege of laying it at His feet to find strength, cheerfulness, and courage.
...ith the burdens imposed by sin, he declares: “My yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” When we try to live the life of a Christian, to bear its responsibilities and perform its duties without Christ as a helper, the yoke is galling, the burden intolerably heavy. But Jesus does not desire us to do this. To the sin-sick soul, weary and heavy laden with its burde...
Some who come to God by repentance and confession, and even believe that their sins are forgiven, still fail of claiming, as they should, the promises of God. They do not see that Jesus is an ever-present Saviour; and they are not ready to co...
...o talk of changing these principles, they are doing a work which it does not belong to them to do. Like Uzzah, they are attempting to steady the ark which belongs to God, and is under His special supervision. Said my Guide to those in these councils, “Who of the men among you have felt the burden of t...
...is the most dangerous course that can be followed. Thus a compromise is made with Satanic agencies. The burden of unconfessed evil is the heaviest burden that can be borne. Jesus, the great Burden-bearer, asks you to transfer your load to Him. Draw nigh to God and never again separate from Him. Satan shuns the company of those with whom he w...
The humblest and poorest of the disciples of Jesus can be a blessing to others. They may not realize that they are doing any special good, but by their unconscious influence they may start waves of blessing that will widen and deepen, and the blessed results they...
Aided by the grace of Christ, mothers have it in their power to do a great and grand work. This Satan knows, and he works with all his power to prevent them from doing this work. He seeks to fill the mind with thoughts of fashionable dress. Thus he absorbs the time and strength of even C...
