Understanding Salvation: How to Be Saved Through Grace
Is salvation a one-time event or a continuous journey of grace?
How can I be saved?

To be saved, you must accept Jesus Christ as your personal substitute and surety, repenting of your sins and exercising a living faith in His power to restore you to God. This salvation is a free gift of divine grace, provided through the infinite sacrifice of the Son of God, and it cannot be earned by any human merit or good works.
The Foundation of Salvation
The Plan of Redemption: Before the world was created, the Father and the Son devised a plan to rescue humanity from the ruin of sin. Jesus volunteered to take the sentence of death upon Himself so that we might find pardon through the merits of His blood.
Christ as Your Substitute: On the cross, Jesus bore the weight of the sins of the whole world, suffering mental and physical agony to break Satan's hold on the human family. He became our "Alpha and Omega," the very beginning and end of the plan of salvation.
The Cost of Love: God’s love for you is so great that He gave all of heaven in the person of His Son to restore His moral image in your soul John 3:16.
Steps to Receiving Salvation
Recognize Your Need: Realize that of yourself you are full of weakness and cannot save your own soul. Sin is the transgression of God’s law, and its wages are death; recognizing this ruin is the first step toward seeking the "Mighty Healer".
Repentance: True conversion involves "repentance toward God," which means turning away from sin and breaking off sinful habits through the righteousness of Christ Acts 20:21.
Faith in Jesus: You must believe that Christ is your personal Saviour and that His death is adequate to meet every requirement of the law on your behalf. Faith is the "empty hand" that receives and holds onto Christ's power.
Submission and Obedience: While works do not save us, those who are saved will manifest their love through obedience to God’s requirements and a desire to be like Jesus.
A Growing Experience
Constant Dependence: Salvation is not a one-time "satisfied condition"; you must never say "I am saved" in a way that leads to a lack of watchfulness. Instead, you are to grow in grace and maintain a constant distrust of self while depending entirely on Christ 2 Peter 3:18.
Co-laboring with God: As you receive the peace of Christ, you are invited to become a "laborer together with God" by being intensely interested in the salvation of others 1 Corinthians 3:9.
The Help of Angels: All of heaven is interested in your success; holy angels are even now ministering to those who seek to be heirs of salvation Hebrews 1:14.
If you are feeling overwhelmed by your unworthiness, stop and be calm; simply believe in the power of Jesus' name. He is "mighty to save" and stands at the door of your heart, waiting for you to let Him in Isaiah 63:1Revelation 3:20.
