The Cost of Seeking Clairvoyant Advice
A farmer in Central California had a good ranch, which he sold and invested in a Nevada mine, on the advice of a clairvoyant. But in this, as in much else with which clairvoyants deal, the man was led astray, and the mining proposition was a failure, and his farm was lost. It is getting to be quite a common occurrence for people to seek the spirits for advice in regard to investments and other undertakings in life. God’s word says: “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God. . . . And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set My face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.” Lev. 19:31; 20:6. This instruction is plain enough, and there is plenty more of the same character in the good old Book. That California farmer had a property that was worth quite a number of thousand dollars, and he has thrown it away at the solicitation of this woman who had a “familiar spirit.” If he had known and heeded the good word of God, he would have been much ahead financially. It pays even in this life to know and follow the Book.
