From Fruitless Trees to Spiritual Discovery
What does it mean to be a fruitless tree in the Lord's garden?
AM I FRUITLESS TREE?
AdventAI
Whether you are a fruitless tree depends on whether your life is characterized by a living connection to Christ that manifests in unselfish service and the graces of the Holy Spirit. You are encouraged to examine your heart and life closely to see if you bear the "fruits of the Spirit"—love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance Galatians 5:22-23.
Characteristics of a Fruitless Tree
A person whose life resembles the fruitless fig tree often has an outward appearance of spiritual health but lacks genuine internal piety.
Profession Without Practice: Having a "form of godliness" while denying its power through an unchristian life is a primary sign of being a fruitless tree 2 Timothy 3:5.
Self-Sufficiency and Pride: When love for God and fellow men is eclipsed by pride, self-centeredness, and a dictatorial or overbearing spirit, fruitfulness is lost.
Neglecting Daily Opportunities: Becoming "fruitless and withered" often results from passing by small, daily opportunities to do good while looking only for a "large work" to perform.
Feeding on "Trash": If the mind is educated to feed on superficial literature or exciting fiction rather than the Word of God, the life becomes as barren as a fruitless tree.
A "Cumberer of the Ground": One who is purely a consumer of God's gifts without blessing others or who casts a "chilling shadow" of doubt and skepticism that hinders the growth of others is considered a cumberer of the ground Luke 13:7.
The Nature of True Fruit
The Lord is not satisfied with "luxuriant foliage" or a "mask of profession," but searches specifically for the fruit of character.
Ministering to Others: No one can truly live the law of God without actively ministering to the needs of those around them.
Principles of Heaven: Christ looks for the revelation of goodness, sympathy, and love in the soul, which are the true principles of heaven.
Unselfish Deeds: Genuine fruit-bearing Christians imitate the example of Christ through unselfish deeds and a deep yearning for the salvation of their fellow men.
The Message of Mercy and Probation
If you feel your life has been unproductive, there is still hope and an invitation to repent while probation remains.
The Intercession of Christ: Just as the gardener pleaded to spare the tree and "dig about it" for one more year, Christ pleads for the sinner to have time to repent and bear fruit Luke 13:8.
Individual Responsibility: Each person must inquire of themselves, "Am I a fruitless tree in the Lord's garden?" because the work of overcoming is an individual task.
The Call to Action: You are invited to take hold of work wherever you see it needs to be done, developing your talents through active service.
The Promise of Help: If you seek the Lord earnestly and apply His rich promises, you will transition from being a consumer to a provider.
By humbling yourself, confessing your sins, and seeking a personal experience through Christian duties, you can avoid the doom of the withered tree and instead become a "tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord" Isaiah 61:3.

HOW TO SEARCH WITH ALL MY MIGHT
AdventAI
Searching with all your might requires an unreserved consecration of your heart, mind, and soul to God, combined with an intense, persevering effort to discover and practice His truth. This is not a half-hearted or indifferent endeavor, but a "putting to the stretch" of every power God has given you to advance your spiritual interests.
The Foundations of Earnest Searching
To search with all your might, you must first recognize that spiritual knowledge and sharp perceptions of truth are never the reward of indolence.
Wholehearted Earnestness: You must dig for the treasures of truth as a miner digs for gold hidden in the earth.
A Single Eye: Keep your gaze fixed solely on the glory of God, ensuring that your physical and mental powers are not exhausted by worldly sciences but preserved for His service.
Unreserved Surrender: A full and entire consecration is the only safe and happy course; any attempt at neutrality or a partial sacrifice is a "hollow sophistry" that dims spiritual vision.
Deep Investigation: Do not be content with surface truths; instead, "sink the shaft deep" into the Word of God with the same spirit of earnestness seen in the prophet Daniel Daniel 10:14.
Practical Steps in Your Search
Searching with all your might involves active discipline in your daily life and a commitment to personal improvement.
Diligent Bible Study: Make the Bible your great educating book, searching it daily to know what is truth and to have it indelibly stamped upon your heart.
Intensity in Prayer: Bring fervency and "soul-earnestness" into your prayers, wrestling with God in private until you can grasp His promises by faith.
Concentrated Application: Put your mind to the task and concentrate your thoughts with earnest application, refusing to let Satan keep you in ignorance or inefficiency.
Self-Examination: Daily examine yourself in the "great looking-glass" of God’s law to see if there are defects in your character that need to be corrected.
Cultivating Your Talents: Seek to improve your language and voice so that you can present the truth in all its "elevated and ennobling beauty".
Overcoming Obstacles to Your Efforts
The enemy will seek with all his power to hinder your work, but you must resist his suggestions with a firm determination to rise.
Master Your Circumstances: Do not allow circumstances to shape you; instead, seize them as instruments to work for God and master them.
Avoid "Intoxication" in Study: Be careful not to engage in "intemperance in study," which wastes your vigor on things that do not help souls find the path of righteousness.
Reject Half-Heartedness: Languid, half-hearted prayers and "half-and-half service" will not bring returns from heaven; God requires your undivided affection.
Watch Against "Little Sins": Cultivate a keen sensitiveness to "little digressions" from God's requirements, as these can eat out the life of godliness in your soul.
The Reward of Diligence
When you search with all your might, God promises to cooperate with your efforts and provide divine aid.
Divine Enlightenment: If you search for truth as for hidden treasure, Christ will "quicken the understanding" and reveal mysteries that were previously hidden.
Increased Capability: As you use your mental and physical powers diligently, they will increase in power and efficiency.
Peace and Joy: Entire self-surrender leads to "solid peace" and "true spiritual joy" that cannot be found in an undecided life John 15:11.
The Help of the Holy Spirit: Those who seek with intensity of purpose will be given an "enlargement of power" and become partakers of the divine nature.
"Whatever you do for Jesus, seek with all your powers to do it with earnestness". "If you will seek, he says he will be found of you; his strength, his grace, and his righteousness will be given to the humble, contrite one who seeks him with all the heart". 🌿✨

BE SPIT OUT FOR GRIEVING AWAY THE HOLY SPIRIT’S KNOCKING
AdventAI
To be spewed out of the mouth of the True Witness is the certain and fearful result of persisting in a lukewarm, half-hearted spiritual condition while rejecting the knocking of the Holy Spirit. This rejection occurs when a person prides themselves on spiritual knowledge and past experiences while remaining indifferent to the actual presence and internal work of Christ in the heart.
The Danger of Lukewarmness and Grieving the Spirit
Lukewarmness is a state of "pretentious piety" and "hollow formalism" that the True Witness finds nauseating.
Grieving the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is grieved when individuals refuse to enter the service of the Lord because the cross is too heavy or the self-denial required is too great.
Rejecting the First Rays of Light: It is a terrible thing to refuse the first ray of divine light, as this blunts the perception and leads to the rejection of even greater light, eventually blinding the soul to the evidences of truth John 12:35.
The Result of Neglect: If the visits of the Holy Spirit are met with indifference or a "convenient season" mentality, the Spirit is eventually grieved away, leaving the soul or the church in a fallen, Christless condition.
Spued Out of His Mouth: Those who are neither cold nor hot, but occupy a neutral position while flattering themselves that they need nothing, will be rejected with abhorrence by God Revelation 3:16.
Signs of a Self-Deceived Condition
Many who are in danger of being spewed out do not realize their true standing before God.
Self-Sufficiency: The Laodicean message describes a people who say they are "rich, and increased with goods," unaware that in heaven's sight they are "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" Revelation 3:17.
Half-Hearted Service: A mere theory of truth or a name on a church book will not save a soul; anyone who is not wholly Christ's is considered a "stony-ground hearer" who will not endure the coming test.
Hardening of the Heart: Through persistent rejection of the Spirit's warnings, the heart becomes calloused, making it impossible to discern between good and evil.
The Remedy: Responding to the Knock
The case of those who are rebuked is not hopeless, as the True Witness continues to knock and offer the necessary remedies for the soul Revelation 3:20.
Buy Gold, White Raiment, and Eyesalve: Christ counsels the lukewarm to buy "gold tried in the fire" (faith and love), "white raiment" (His own righteousness), and "eyesalve" (the grace of the Holy Spirit for spiritual eyesight) Revelation 3:18.
Zealous Repentance: The only hope for the Laodicean is a clear view of their disease and a commitment to "be zealous therefore, and repent" before probation closes Revelation 3:19.
Opening the Door: If any man hears the voice of Jesus and opens the door, Christ promises to come in and "sup with him," bringing His personal presence into the life Revelation 3:20.
The Reward of Overcoming: To those who overcome their lukewarmness and pride, Christ grants the honor of sitting with Him on His throne Revelation 3:21Psalms 149:9.
The Laodicean message is designed to arouse God's people from their backslidings and fit them for the "loud cry" of the third angel Revelation 18:1. We must take heed to the Word of the Lord and listen to His rebuke, for God will not be trifled with, and the time for preparation is almost over Matthew 25:10. 🕯️🙏🏾

HOW TO DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MYSTERIES and THINGS HIDDEN.
AdventAI
To discover new things and the hidden mysteries of God, you must cultivate a humble, teachable heart and maintain a living connection with Christ through diligent study and prayer. These sacred treasures are not found through human wisdom or speculative theories, but are revealed by the Holy Spirit to those who lean upon infinite power.
The Source of Divine Revelation
True discovery begins with acknowledging that Christ is the center of all wisdom and the primary revealer of secrets.
Christ as the Key: In Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He longs to bestow a foretaste of His glory upon those who believe His Word.
The Gospel Mystery: The greatest mystery revealed to man is "Christ in you, the hope of glory," a truth once hidden for ages but now made manifest to His saints Colossians 1:26-27.
The Office of the Spirit: The Holy Spirit was sent specifically to be a Comforter and a teacher who reveals truth and makes dark things plain to the human understanding.
Nature as a Lesson Book: The Author of nature is the Author of the Bible; therefore, the laws of the physical world and the growth of a simple seed can illustrate the deep mysteries of the kingdom of God.
Practical Methods for Investigation
Discovering "new things" requires an active, disciplined approach to the Word of God rather than a passive wait for inspiration.
Digging in the Mine of Truth: Treat the Scriptures like a mine with rich veins of gold; you must "sink the shaft deeper and still deeper" through earnest, humble, and prayerful seeking.
Comparing Scripture with Scripture: The Bible is its own expositor. By comparing different texts on the same subject and viewing them from every side, one passage becomes a key to unlock the hidden meaning of others.
Painstaking Mental Effort: Do not allow others to think for you; instead, rally your mind’s best powers to acquire for yourself what others have found in the sciences and the Word of God.
Broaden Your Field of Study: You are encouraged to advance as fast and as far as your powers compass, making God your wisdom while clinging to Him who can solve the most difficult problems.
Essential Qualifications of the Seeker
The ability to comprehend divine mysteries depends more on the state of the heart than the strength of the intellect.
A Childlike Spirit: The things hidden from the "wise and prudent"—those puffed up by vain philosophy—are revealed unto "babes" who have an honest, teachable desire to do God's will Matthew 11:25.
Humility and Meekness: Those who are diligently working in the mines of God’s Word must be meek and lowly of heart, exalting Jesus as the Source of all truth.
Experimental Knowledge: The most important discovery is the "experimental knowledge" of what it means to be born again and to have a heart emptied of self.
Obedience to Revealed Will: To find hidden things, you must first follow the plain course indicated by the revealed will of God; neglecting known duty while prying into secrets leads to self-importance and conceit.
Boundaries and Cautions
While God invites us to search, there are boundaries to human inquiry that must be respected to avoid the snares of skepticism.
Avoid Human Theories: Man often loses the simplicity of faith by building his own theories and trying to solve the problems of infinity that the finite mind cannot fathom.
Reject Originality for Its Own Sake: Those who strive to be "wise above what is written" or seek to correct the Bible end up floundering in confusion.
Unapproachable Mysteries: Some things remain "hidden mysteries" because of the limitations of the human mind marred by sin; these will be revealed only in the heavenly school above.
God's Reserve: In dealing with the divine essence, Christ maintained a wise reserve to close the door against human conjectures and speculative theories.
"The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever" Deuteronomy 29:29. If you search for truth as for hidden treasure, you will find that God is eager to instruct you and reveal the "unsearchable riches of Christ" Ephesians 3:8. 📖✨

Does the Second Eve have to face the same serpent that deceived the First Eve?
AdventAI
The same spiritual conflict and the same subtle adversary that deceived the first Eve in the Garden of Eden must be faced by all her descendants, who are often warned of this danger by the apostle Paul. While the term "Second Eve" is not explicitly used in the sacred record, the principles of temptation and the methods of the wily foe remain unchanged throughout the history of the great controversy.
The Persistence of the Original Deceiver
The serpent that beguiled Eve through his subtlety is still actively working to corrupt minds from the simplicity that is in Christ.
The Same Subtle Methods: Satan continues to use false theories, attractive garbs, and pleasing fables to instill deadly errors, just as he did when he concealed his identity through the serpent.
The Science of Deception: The fallen foe deals in his deceptive science today in the same way as when he led our first parents to question and distrust the plain word of God.
A Personal Encounter: Just as Eve was personally approached by the tempter, every soul is currently on trial during their probationary time, with Satan playing the "game of life" for every individual.
The Nature of the Final Conflict
The last great conflict between truth and error involves the same principles that were disregarded in Eden.
A Test of Character: The same test of character is now before the race as was placed before our first parents, involving loyalty to the commandments of God.
The Lie of Immortality: The original lie, "Ye shall not surely die," remains the foundation of many modern deceptions, such as Spiritualism, which echoes the serpent's ancient claim Genesis 3:4.
The Corruption of Simplicity: Paul expressed a godly jealousy for the church, fearing that as the serpent beguiled Eve, believers' minds would be corrupted from a simple, trusting faith in Christ 2 Corinthians 11:3.
The Victory Through the Second Adam
While the children of Eve must face the same serpent, they do not have to face him alone, for Christ has already conquered him in human nature.
Reversing the Failure: Christ, the "Second Adam," identified Himself with the weaknesses of the fallen race to show that man can redeem Adam's disgraceful failure through humble obedience.
Vanquished at the Cross: By His death, Christ forever answered the questions Satan raised in Eden, revealing the true character of the "liar and murderer" and ensuring the ultimate defeat of the dragon John 8:44.
A Way of Escape: Through the sacrifice of Christ, a way is made possible for man to escape the penalty of the law and regain the lost Eden.
Lessons for the Modern Seeker
There are important lessons to be learned from the transgression of Eve for those living in the last days.
Cleaving to the Word: Our only safety lies in cleaving to the "sure word" of God and resisting the "strange voices" that contradict His plain statements.
Guarding the Senses: Eve's fall began when she permitted herself to wander from her husband's side and listen to the suggestions of the tempter; we must likewise guard our minds and associations.
Individual Responsibility: Each person must perfect a character like Christ's by faith, receiving His merits to overcome the same principles of pride and appetite that led to the first fall.
I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ 2 Corinthians 11:3. By looking to Jesus, our advocate, we are given grace and heavenly wisdom to withstand all the wiles of the enemy. 🛡️✨

hating one another
AdventAI
The natural, unregenerated heart is described as being "hateful, and hating one another," a condition that serves as a disgraceful byword to the world and a triumph for the adversary Titus 3:3. This spirit of variance and strife is a manifestation of the "law of sin and death" and is diametrically opposed to the new commandment of love given by Christ John 13:34.
The Root and Nature of Hatred
Hatred and revenge are not merely human failings but are traits that originated with Satan himself, who employed them in his warfare against the Son of God.
Envy as a Source: Envy is often the underlying cause of hatred; it led to the fall of the rebel chief in heaven and later prompted the Jewish leaders to deliver Christ to be crucified Matthew 27:18.
The Fruits of Selfishness: Jealousy, suspicion, and evil surmisings are the natural fruits of a selfish heart. When these are cherished, they separate the closest of friends and destroy the peace of the church.
A Violation of the Law: The scriptures declare that "whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer," meaning that the revengeful thought holds the seed of the evil deed 1 John 3:15. Even passionate contention and despising others are considered violations of the command "Thou shalt not kill" Matthew 5:21-22.
The Condition of the Church
It is a cause for great sadness that many who profess to stand under the banner of Christ continue to manifest a lack of love and tender pity.
Satan’s Exultation: Satan points to disunion and strife among believers, telling his forces they have nothing to fear as long as Christians spend more strength fighting one another than battling his kingdom.
A Stumbling Block to Unbelievers: Worldlings look at the dissensions within the church and jeeringly exclaim, "Behold how these Christians hate one another! If this is religion, we do not want it".
Chronic Grumblers: There are those described as "chronic church grumblers" who live in an atmosphere of doubt and suspicion, doing more harm than multiple ministers can undo.
A Lack of Self-Control: Bitter dissensions often arise because there is so little effort to repress wrong feelings or to control the "babbling tongue" that delights in mischief.
The Warning for the Last Days
Christ specifically warned that as we approach the end of time, the spirit of betrayal and hatred would increase even among those who were once companions in Christian association.
Fulfilment of Prophecy: Christ said, "Then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another" Matthew 24:10. This applies to periods of intense persecution where even family members would deliver one another up to death.
Loss of Heavenly Protection: When a person loses a good conscience and indulges in evil surmising, they lose the cooperation of heavenly angels and fall under the control of another spirit.
The Chilling of Love: Because iniquity abounds, the love of many waxes cold, leading to a state of apathy and unfeeling conduct among professed Christians Matthew 24:12.
The Remedy: Transformation and Unity
The only safety for God's people in these last days is a thorough reformation and a living union with Christ.
The Example of God's Mercy: We are reminded that we ourselves were "sometimes foolish, disobedient... hateful, and hating one another," but were saved by the kindness and washing of regeneration through Jesus Christ Titus 3:3-5.
Banishment of Discord: A true reformation will actuate every believer with the spirit of prayer, breaking down the barriers that separate member from member.
Cultivating Kindness: We are commanded to be "gentle, showing all meekness unto all men" and to speak evil of no one Titus 3:2.
The Yoke of Christ: If we truly wear the yoke of Christ, we will be patient and unrevengeful, learning from Him who is meek and lowly of heart Matthew 11:29.
"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God" 1 John 4:7. By beholding the character of Christ, we can overcome our natural tendencies toward strife and represent His attributes to a watching world. 🕊️✨
